Entries will be judged in two groups:

Appomattox 4-H

Buckingham 4-H

Charlotte 4-H

Cumberland 4-H,

FFA Chapter

Only one entry per organization. Only first place will be awarded per group.

The theme of the contest is "Carnival Lights and Country Nights".

The Five County Fair will provide one 5’x4 1/2’ round bale of hay per entry. The bales will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

All items/supplies used to design the hay bale are the responsibility of the exhibitors and need to be securely attached. The hay bale design will be displayed throughout the entire fair week.

The finished structure size should not exceed 12’ long x 12’wide and 10’ high.

Decorating times will be Saturday, September 21, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

All entries must be complete by Saturday September 21 at 6 p.m. Each organization shall provide a sign with the following information: Organization name, title and explanation of design. Signs need to be turned in by Saturday, September 21 at 6 p.m. All decorating items should be picked up Sunday, September 29, 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

Judging will take place Monday, September 23 and will be based on creativity, construction, quality of work and eye appeal.
