2024 FAIR PROGRAM

SATURDAY, SEPT. 23rd - All entries entered from 9am-5pm EXCEPT Flowers and Livestock.

 

MONDAY, SEPT. 25th- Entries for Youth and Adult Flowers and Baked goods entered from 9am-Noon. Poultry and Rabbits entered from 12pm-6pm.

 

TUESDAY, SEPT. 26th-  Fair Opens at 5pm. Cole Shows Amusement will open our 2023 Midway at 6pm, weather permitting. Visit our Petting Zoo down by the front gate. Wildlife Wonders Exhibit, 5:30-7:30pm in the Open Air Building. Beef Cattle and Sheep and Goats entered from 10am-4pm. Youth Beef Show will be at 6:30pm in the Varner Bldg. Youth Sheep and Goat Show to follow.

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 27th – Fair Opens at 3pm. Midway starts at 4pm, weather permitting. Visit our Petting Zoo down by the front gate.  Find Ag Olympics on the grounds.  Floral Design Program from 5:30-7:30pm in the Open Air Building. Petite, Little and JR Miss Pageants will be at 7pm in Varner Building. Free Admission for Students until 7pm with Fair School Tickets. Home School Students can get their School tickets at Admission Gate.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 28th- Fair Opens at 3pm. Midway starts at 4pm, weather permitting. Visit our Petting Zoo down by the front gate.  Find axe throwing and Ag Olympics on the grounds. Engineering Challenge from 5:30-7:30pm in the Open Air Building. Teen and Miss Five County Fair Pageant will be at 7:30PM in Varner Building. Free Admission for Students until 7 pm with Fair School Tickets. Home School Students can get their School tickets at Admission Gate. College students FREE with college ID. Youth Dairy entries from 8am to 2pm. 

 

FRIDAY, SEPT. 29th- Fair Opens at 5pm. Midway starts at 6pm, weather permitting. Visit our Petting Zoo down by the front gate. Find axe throwing on the grounds. Pie Eating Contest 7:00pm in the Open Air Building. Dairy Show will be at 6:30pm in Varner Building. 

 

SATURDAY, SEPT. 30th-  Fair Opens at 3pm. Closing Night of the 2023 Fair. Midway starts at 4pm, weather permitting. Visit our Petting Zoo down by the front gate. Find axe throwing on the grounds. Power Wheels Derby at 4:30pm on The Track.  Professional Wrestling will be at 8pm in the Varner Building.

Tuesday, Sept 26th - 5:30-7:30 Pm - Wildlife Wonders Exhibit

Ever wondered what an owl pellet is?  Ever wondered how owls can eat whole mice or voles - where do the bones go?  Want to know more about animal tracks, pelts, skulls and such?  Come to the Wildlife Wonders program to learn about Virginia Wildlife with many hands on activities available.



Wednesday, Sept 27th - 5:30-7:30pm - Floral design program

Floral Design 101:  Did you know you could enter floral arrangements into the fair?  Come lean about different design types that can be entered!  You will get to see how to make a variety of designs from current floral design students from Appomattox County High School!



Thursday, Sept 28th - 5:30-7:30pm - Engineering challenge

Come on down to the Open Air building at 5:30pm or 6:30pm to start your build.  You will be given materials and the challenge - you will have till 6:15 pm or 7:15 pm to create your engineering design to complete the challenge.  We will test and score the designs at 6:15 pm or 7:15 pm.  Your design can then be entered in the fair in a special category to win ribbons and premiums.  Bring your creativity and willingness to think outside the box and have some fun with us.


Thursday, Sept 26th - 7:00pm - Pie Eating Contest
